Space to Cry 03:28
I want a space to cry I want a space to cry I want a space to cry in, to lie in, not die As I walk alone I know my body is my home And even though I repeat it many times in one day There’s something in my head that says I don’t have space to cry I don’t have space to cry I don’t have space to cry in, to lie in, not die I want a space to cry I want a space to cry I want a space to cry in, to lie in, not die When I sit smiling Doesn't mean that I can't be sad Doesn't mean that I'm lying It just means that you can't always understand That I want space to cry That I want space to cry That I want space to cry in, to lie in, not die I want space now, I want the space I had I want space to cry

Vulnerable 02:30
I want to let go I want to let go of whatever tells me I’m not whole I want to let go Judgement Quietly I pretend that you can silence my emotions Even though I feel them inside Even though I feel them inside I want to let go I want to Vulnerable estoy porque quiero crecer y no quiero juzgarme más Vulnerable estoy porque quiero crecer y no quiero juzgarme más I want to let go I want to I am vulnerable I want to grow

about

Having released three singles, one of which (Mi Piel) landed placement on Spotify's "Best Non-Binary+ Artists of 2020" playlist, Anaís Azul presents their debut solo EP "Vulnerable."

"Vulnerable" is a bilingual five song EP in English and Spanish to be released in 2022. This project explores many different kinds of love one can experience – love of community, a romantic partner, friends and oneself. It is an invitation for introspection and openness to feeling emotions without judgement. The creation of Vulnerable began during the quarantine as a series of short self-produced songs from the space of solitude using loop pedal and electronic production in a way I hadn’t previously explored. It was a very emotional and internal process but I decided I wanted to let others in it.

The production of this project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival Seed Commission 2021.
